EMPOWERING YOUR MENTAL HEALTH
A.H THERAPY & WELLNESS
MEET
YOUR
THERAPIST

Hi, I’m Amanda! I know that feeling comfortable and heard makes a big difference. Therapy works best when you feel safe, supported, and really understood—that’s the kind of connection I work to build with every client.
My focus is anxiety disorders, complex or relational trauma, and those navigating relationship challenges or life transitions. In other words, if you're moving into a new phase of life, having trouble in your relationships or moving forward from the trauma or patterns of your past, or just feeling overwhelmed with how to manage an anxious brain...We may be a good fit :)
I also enjoy working with those who were (or still are!) the fixer, caretaker, peacekeeper, maybe even the “easy kid” in their families - the ones who held it all together or had to have it all together. As adults, this can show up as anxiety, perfectionism, or people-pleasing, and can feel like carrying an unseen emotional load.
Ultimately, I believe your time in therapy is yours to define - I'm not here to label you. Instead, my goal is to understand your unique experience and work with you to explore and challenge the patterns that keep you stuck. I draw from various theories to meet your individual needs and help you build the tools necessary to become the expert on your own mental health!
EXPERIENCE
Whether you are pursuing therapy to manage a specific concern, improve emotional regulation, or simply build a better understanding of yourself, a collaborative therapeutic relationship, based in empathy, acceptance and trust is an essential foundation. I know it can be hard to open up to someone new, especially about the tough things, so I strive to create a space within therapy that fosters safety, empowerment (and even a little humor!) as you work towards the growth or healing you seek.
I aim to understand your unique story and where that has brought you today. For that reason, I work from an eclectic framework, meaning I pull from various theoretical orientations and techniques to fit your specific needs. I have extensive knowledge in trauma informed care and cognitive behavioral therapy, but also draw from attachment theory, psychodynamic theory, Internal Family Systems as well as self-compassion and mindfulness based techniques.
I have my bachelors and masters degrees in clinical psychology, both from Loyola University Maryland. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families, with a special interest in young adults.
I have worked in various environments within the mental health field, spending time in youth and family work, special education, community mental health services and private practice. I am a licensed clinical professional counselor in the state of Maryland (LCPC) and Connecticut (LPC).
